Prince Martris Drayke, second son of Bricen. Martris was happy to live in the background of the court at the palace of Shekerishet in the Kingdom of Margolan, away from the public eye where he'd eventually be able to retire to an estate in the country and live out his life. When his half-brother, Jared, murdered the King, Queen and Princess on the night of Haunts, Tris barely managed to flee with his life. The trauma of the night awoke a powerful magic that had been locked inside of him by his mother, the great Summoner Bava K'aa. Discovering he is also a Summoner, and the only man capable to removing his tyrannous brother from the throne, not even out of his teens, Tris sets out to become more powerful and to learn to control his magic. Travelling with him and aiding him in his training is; Ban Soterius, captain of Bricen's guard; Carroway, a bard and friend; Harrtuck, a soldier and Jonmarc Vahanian, a smuggler with a bad rep and many more. But Jared isn't all he has to worry about; his brother's fire-clan mage consort, Arontala, is a vayash moru who plans to release the soul of the great and evil Sorcerer Obsidian King and gain the power of a Summoner himself so that he can take control of the Winter Kingdoms. Tris doesn't need to just save his Kingdom, he needs to save the world. | ||||||
